"If I get drunk, then drive my car into a school parking lot killing 32 inocent people; do you then demand strickter laws on automobiles too?"
It's hard to imagine what it must be like to watch in horror as a crazed man with a gun starts firing shot after shot at Innocent men and women who just moments before, engaged in life, have now been stripped of everything.
Why was this senseless act of violence committed? Does it matter? I don't think the "why" is important at all. Put another way; Could there possibly be ANY justification for murdering 32 innocent people? Equally as unimportant is where and how the killer obtained his firearms. Bottom line is that upstanding citizens DO NOT kill Innocent people either with guns or other means. A person capable of murder in the first degree is equally capable of acquiring guns or other weapons no matter what laws are put in place. Additional laws are only restrictive of law-biding citizens. Why would we want to dis-arm them?
I think we need to focus on the real issue of violence. Not the instruments that the violent use to enact their unjust judgment.
I feel strongly that if more law abiding citizens were lawfully able to carry firearms that we could potentially have fewer victims of violent crime. Bottom line, in the face of evil it is easy to blame the systems in place or the tools that were used. Let's not allow a few evil people to strip Americans of our Constitutionally protected rights.

School shootings
As I was reflecting on the rash of school shootings over the last several years it became more clear as to what the real problems are. It sure is not guns for I grew up in the 50's and 60's and there were plenty of guns but not the wave of violence that there is today. There was some major difference back then though. In schools in those days children could actually pray and for the most part did not think that God's last name was damnit. There was patriotism and "good citizenship" instilled in the children. Also discipline was enforced. I got my share of paddlings and it did not scar me for life. I believe that most of the liberal politicians know that gun control is not the answer but their agenda is to disarm the citizens of America. Just My 2 cents worth.
Kids need to be taught and reinforced that High School isn't forever.
Sure, you might hate your current situation, but once you get past that and into college or wherever you go next, you'll find that all the clique crap goes away and you'll be rewarded for your intelligence, creativity, and for being "different".
Hell, take them to a 10 year high school reunion where most of the jocks & cool kids are all fat losers, and all the nerds are wealth & successful.
"Give me Liberty...or eat my lead!"
Exactly. All of it.
I wrote a post like this April 18. I agree 100%
There are many reasons why the shooting happened.
1. Bullying by other people towards a person who got fed up with it and probably suffered with a mental defect.
2. Rap music and the violence and debauchery in this music along with violent video games has played an important part in violence of today.
3. Lack of common sense in keeping foreigners out of the US. We see so much violence by immigrants in today's society. In the 40's up to the 60's we had a predominant Caucasian society with Christian values. As our society becomes more and more diverse there will be more and more violence and disrespect of the family.
